Writing. It's something that I've been doing for a little while now. Growing up, writing was something that I never pictured doing. I was never that girl that kept a journal who avidly wrote down every single thought that past through my mind. So having a career in writing was definitely a shock decision that no one (including myself) saw coming.

Actually, I always wanted to be a lawyer. Don't laugh, but I always loved watching Law & Order growing up and that was where I drew my inspiration on my future career goals. I was always fascinated by the court system, how it was run and the thought and preparation that would go into a trial. Then work experience week came along and I decided to complete my week in a law firm. Luckily I did because HOLY SHIT it was the most boring thing I have ever done. Seriously, watching paint dry would have been a whole lot more interesting the that (just my personal opinion).

So suddenly at 16-years old, for the first time since I was eight, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. Then miraculously, BAM it hit me. Why don't you become a sports reporter? You love sport, your a good speaker. Gah, why didn't I think of this before!

So there it was, I enrolled in a journalism course and got the ball rolling on my writing career. It was only a year course so even if I decided not to keep pursuing this career path in knew it would be okay because it was only a year and I that that isn't a major waste of time. About half-way through my course I got an interview for an internship at a major Australian television network. Luckily they saw something in me that I didn't and gave me a three-month internship. This internship then extended to 6-months spreading across all different departments within the company. Writing, producing, you name it!

Even though it didn't lead to a job, I learned so much and if it wasn't for that internship, I definitely wouldn't be where I am today. A few months after graduating I landed a junior role in a well known magazine publishing company. After 15-months there, I am now a Digital Marketing Executive for some of the biggest events in the Southern Hemisphere where I am able to write and create content on a daily basis. I am extremely lucky! But don't be fooled, I also put in a lot of hard work to get where I am today. Early starts, late nights, working weekends. A lot of dedication and I don't intent on stopping any time soon.

Do I see myself doing this in 10-years time? I don't know. The digital and writing world is ever evolving and there's always new skills and new things to learn. Knowledge is key and knowledge is power. They say that in your lifetime, you'll change careers up to seven times. Whether I'm still writing in 20-years time, is something that I don't know; but I love it for now and I wouldn't change it for the world!

A character that encompasses so much to the average Joe. Strength, power, bravery, intelligence; and amazingly DC managed not to fuck it up (woohoo)! The people of Warner Brothers have actually produced something that had given comic book and movie fans alike, a slither of hope for the DC cinematic universe. What is this slither of hope you may ask? Wonder. Woman!

For a woman that's been around for a couple of hundred years, she hasn't aged a day and she certainly hasn't lost any of her relevance. Never more so before, the world was crying out for a super hero movie which was lead by a strong female. And yes, Black Widow from the MCU is a strong female superhero, however, she definitely plays a supporting role behind her fellow avengers. This was a 100% solo performance for Wonder Woman which is the basis of it's appeal. This is why I wanted to go see it. To see how DC would handle portraying a character that hasn't been depicted for a very long time.

Here's the 411. Before Wonder Woman became well; Wonder woman, She was Diana a princess and highly skilled and trained warrior. When a pilot crashes and brings the outside world to her isolated island, she finds out the terror the world is currently facing. She then leaves home to fight the war to end all wars where (of course) she discovers her full powers and true destiny (would you like extra cheese with that?)

The movie is quite a dark movie, much less comical than MCU films, however that is in keeping with the tone of the DC comic movies. The action sequences, script and character development evolve smoothly and you become really invested in the supporting characters because of this. The one downfall that I would give this movie is that it's long. Very long. I'm talking transformers like 3-hour feeling I have to go to the toilet again long. But, I'm not mad. I was able to hold it in and it was worth it. If you're looking for a movie to restore your faith in the potential of the future DC, Justice League and Batman movies. This is it. The Potential is there and Warner Brothers just need to make sure that they keep making movies like this and that fans will stay. They may even make some new ones because of it. GO SEE IT! - 4 stars

Ahhh Autumn, my favourite season. That time of the year when the leaves change colour, the heat turns down a notch and everything becomes a little calmer. The point of the year where you really start to settle in.

Personally, autumn is my favourite season for the following reasons:

1. The weather is perfect. Not too hot and not too cold 
2. The scenery and your surroundings are gorgeous with all the different colours of nature 
3. Easter - which means unlimited amount of chocolate 
4. It's the season of my birthday 

In need of a classic aussie move that has the perfect balance of bogan and classic one liners? Let me introduce you to The Castle. Pretty much Australia's movie equivalent to Daryl Braithwaites, The Horses, The Castle is everything a good aussie movie should be. Based on the premises of a mans home is his castle - Darryl Kerrigan played by aussie acting legend, Michael Caton fights city hall after being told that him and his family basically need to get the fuck out of their house to allow for the expansion of the local airpot; that they just so happen to live right next door to. Other than the fact that this movie is pretty much just one giant middle finger to the Australian Government; it delivers some of the most classic movie moments to ever grace Australian film. It’s also responsible for every second photo that includes some form of gorgeous scenery on Instagram to include the caption ‘how's the serenity’.



With the inclusion of a young Eric Bana and other aussie acting legends, The Castle delivers on everything that you're looking for in a comedy. Quotable one liners? TICK. Laugh out loud moments? TICK. A sweet meaning to a fantastic story. TICK! If you haven't seen this movie, do yourself a favour and watch it NOW. You won't regret it!

Well it's officially winter which means were also halfway through 2017 (eek). Can you believe it?! Where the fuck did the time go? Well rather than wasting any more time complaining about where the time actually went, I thought I'd write a little post about how you can still achieve your 2017 goals.

Just like any reputable company would have, everyone has goals but it's often how you execute them which will determine whether they are achieved. It all comes down to planning and executing. Coming from the business world, whenever we have a goal, there is a strategy behind it. This strategy includes: Objectives, mission, focus and tactics. Once you lay these four pillars out in front of you and see them visually, you'll be able to achieve any goal!

While this is quite a structured way of looking at just a couple of simple New Year's resolutions; sometimes it's good to have a bit of a brain dump to figure out the real reasoning as to why want to achieve these specific goals. You might find the real reason as to why this is a goal of yours, giving you the inspiration and motivation to achieve it. I know that personally, when I make a goal, it's usually to prove someone wrong. And as everyone knows, the best revenge is success and as the great Queen Bey Beyoncé once said "the best revenge is your paper". So if your struggling to achieve some of your 2017 goals, maybe try this strategy out. You maybe doing this sexy AF Brad Pitt dance in no time!

One of the many difficulties any beauty lover will find is the search for that perfect nude shade that matches your skin tone like a dream. My journey to finding that perfect colour came to an end about three years ago when I caught word of a mac lipstick that would majestically look good on every skin tone. But does such glorious things actually exist? Short answer - YES!

Velvet Teddy by MAC is my go-to nude lipstick; and I swear to god, it's looks good on every skin tone! Velvet Teddy has been on the beauty map for a few years now, ever since Kylie Jenner stated that is was a lipstick that she loves - every single person has had to have it since. p.s if your looking for a dupe for one of her lip kits, this is probably the colour to go for.



This lipstick is completely matte, however not drying what soever. Whilst it's not as long-wearing as a liquid lipstick, it can certainly stand the test of time. The only time you really need a touch-up is after your morning coffee or lunch feed. It's easy to apply, smooth and has a nice brown undertone rather than your traditional pink undertone that you'll find in traditional nude lipsticks. This is what I'd attribute to this colour suiting 80% of skin tones! While Velvet Teddy suits every skin tone, it also looks completely different on every one, which makes it so unique.
