38 days. That's how long until I catch a plane to the other side of the world and I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't freaking out a little. It's a good freaking out though; filled with excitement and nervousness that has me on the edge of my seat. The slight nervousness is felt because I don't exactly know what I want to do over there, well I do, but I just fill a little underprepared. I just never thought of it because I'm doing a contiki and everything is pretty much sorted out for you, however there will be free-time and I'm arriving in Athens a couple of days before the contiki actually starts. So I've been doing a little research. Here's my Greece to-do list - Athens!

1. You're miserable in the morning 
As if the daily struggle of getting out of bed isn't hard enough, but the fact that you have to get out of your comfortable haven for a job that you hate, GTFO! No wonder you're miserable.

2. You're in an absolute shitty mood when you come home
You've spent your entire day at a place that is literally making your blood boil; and people wonder why you're not a ray of sunshine when you come home?

3. The company is sinking 
Watching a company crumble before your eyes ins't inspiring you to work any harder. The ship is sinking and there's no need for you to go down with it - time to take the plunge!

4. Your care factor has reached Z-E-R-O 
A nicer way of saying "no fucks given". You don't care if you do well, if you're work is mediocre or if the building you're in suddenly catches on fire. Anything is an improvement on the environment that you're currently working in.

5. You know that you're meant for bigger and better things 
When your job doesn't recognise your capabilities and your potential, you start to become frustrated and angry. Time to make them regret this and for them to discover what they're missing.

6. The environment has become toxic with hate 
You're often not the only one who has these feelings of hate and frustration. When everyone dislikes the environment that they're working in, people become snippy and unlikable. The company has turned everyone into a monster, including you!

7. Job growth just isn't a thing 
Taking the next step in your career would be nice if your boss would give you a chance. But you'll find that some companies just don't like job development internally as they'd rather just employ external people.

8. Company culture doesn't exist 
Well it does; it just doesn't have the rep of being fun, enjoyable and exciting.

9. Your work performance is suffering 
When you literally don't give a sh*t, your work quality and attention to detail tends to slip.

10. Your being made to do menial crap that isn't in your job description 
"Can you do me a favour and get me and these other guys a few coffee's". "Oh, can you order so and so's birthday cake". Nope, it's not my job nor am I the intern.

B-A-B-Y BABY. Put your foot down, rev up the engine and turn up the music cause baby, in this movie; the road goes on forever - but which direction will it take you?

While the premise of this movie is simple, the film itself certainly packs a punch. Ansel Elgort, has attempted to shed (and succeeded) his teenage heartthrob image by taking on the role of Baby, a highly skilled young getaway driver going nowhere until he completes one last job for big-time bank-robbing mastermind Doc (Kevin Spacey).

Now Baby might look like a naive recent high school graduate, but behind the wheel, he's a 
l-e-g-e-n-d. Constantly underestimated by the rotating heist crew recruited by Doc, Baby always proves them wrong with his moves on the road. 

Whilst Baby Driver certainly meets great expectations and your need for speed, it's the music and the soundtrack to this film that really makes it stand out.  

After being in a serious car crash as a child, Baby suffers from a hearing disorder which leaves a searing buzzing noise in his ears. The only way for him to drown out the sound is from his ever extensive music supply from his multiple ipods. 

Add in the mix of the ever-changing, often volatile crew recruited by Doc, (insert Jamie Foxx and Jon Hamm), this collective of crooks are as colourful in both words and in action however not all are impressed with Baby's musical habits. 

Speaking of impressive, love interest Debora (Lily James - you may know her as Cinderella) shows off her musical pipes and music knowledge throughout the film and also offers Baby a sharp U-turn from his life of crime. 

Miss this film, and your movie going licence might be suspended, or even REVOKED! 

Define model. Go on I dare you! If you asked someone 20-years ago the usual response would be something along the lines of, "a tall slender female"... oh how wrong this is in 2017. While most of us still associate modelling with young, beautiful people there's a few people out there that are trying to change that.

 A little while ago I got the the opportunity to put myself in front of the camera rather than behind it with an offer that I couldn't refuse from the Photo Studio Australia. With a slogan of "FIGHTING FASHION STEREOTYPES" and as someone who likes to describe herself as 'chunky but funky' my eye was immediately drawn.

This 'modelling' experience (and I put in quotation marks as I don't really know if you can call it modelling) was an odd one, but in a good way! I arrived to a fantastic team which completely transformed me from drab to fab! I had a photographer that made me feel completely comfortable in my own skin and a fantastic makeup artist that shared the same beauty opinions on eyeliner, baking a brows as me, (kindred spirits or what?!).

Having recently gone through quite the physical transformation, my confidence was a lot higher than what it use to be. On this day, I got to live out my fantasy of being a Calvin Klein model. I felt great, inspired and confident (tbh, I kind of had a Beyonce moment). The only negative thing I could say about the experience was when it was over. 

Of course, I don't suspect the real modelling world to be as nice and fluffy as my one time experience, but it was definitely nice to see a photo studio defy the usual connotations that come with modelling. These days you have a variety of people in the modelling industry, men and women setting the example of real-life beauty. Is the standard where it should be today? No. Is it a 100% complete representation of people in the real world? No. Is the modelling world heading in the right direction? Yes! With the likes of Ashley Graham and Robyn Lawley gracing magazine covers, billboards and runways, the usual 'model' picture is certainly changing and for the better.

I wouldn't say that I'm going to become a model any time soon, but if I had the opportunity, I would certainly do it again and I'd recommend you do the same! Don't be afraid to take a step outside yourself. Everything is scary the first time you do it because it is the unknown. But it's also not knowing what's to come that makes the experience exciting.
